MED-500: Medicine (part three and four) Work Load

Spring | Contents
During the fifth year of study, the student will gain experience from practical clinical work at a hospital outside the hospital clinic and in primary health care in the region. In the course of his / her internship, the student will have spent 16 weeks in clinical service at a hospital - 8 weeks of which will be at a surgical ward and 8 at a ward of internal medicine - and 8 weeks in primary health care. In addition, 12 weeks are allocated during the spring semester to completion of the fifth-year-assignment. The sixth year provides supplementary practical and theoretical education. Social sciences, forensic medicine, prophylactic medicine etc. will be taught. Clinical education will be provided in surgery, internal medicine, ophtalmology, ENT-diseases, dermatology, rheumatology, paediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, gynaecology, obstetrics and orthopaedics. The final exam, MED-500, is taken at the end of the spring semester in the sixth year of study. | Compulsory prerequisites

| Exam and assessment
The examination will mainly be practical and clinical and will consist of one written and four oral exams in, respectively: surgery, internal medicine, and two of the following subjects picked according to drawn lots: paediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, gynaecology / obstetrics, ear nose and throat medicine, eye and skin diseases. An examination of the patient will be included in all oral exams. | | Date(s) of written examination
