The basic principles of thermodynamics will be discussed and continuously used on relevant geological problems. After completion of the course the student will have made a spreadsheet routine for plotting complex mineral equilibria in pressure-temperature space based on available thermodynamic data. Each lecture is followed by an exercise set that must be returned and accepted before examination. | Recommended previous qualifications

30 h lectures, 8 homework sets | Exam and assessment
48 hours written home exam.Admittance to examination requires approved course work.
