FYS-2008: Measurement techniques Work Load

The course is based on previous knowledge of mathematics and physics corresponding to the subjects MAT-1001 Calculus 1 and FYS-2005 Electronics II. The course is an extension of FYS-2004 Electronics I and FYS-2005 Electronics II. In this course, electronics aimed at general instrumental and measuring problems will be emphasized. The student will be given basic knowledge about general principles of measurement, sensors, transmission and data processing. The subject includes the general structure of measuring systems, besides various basic elements and areas of application. Further, included is the theory for analysing the properties of static and dynamic systems, in addition to statistical methods of analysis. Exercises will be emphasized. It is required that some laboratory exercises have been carried out and approved before exam. | Recommended previous qualifications

Portfolio assessment of a final written examination of 4 hours duration (counting approx 80%) and a midterm examination (counting approx 20%).
Grading scale: A-F.
Re-sit examination: Early in tutor free term, 4 hour written examination counting 100%.
Postponed examination: According to the current regulation of exams § 21.
