It should be possible to understand and interpret data from quantitative analyses that expose a disease or risk of disease. | Contents The course is an introduction to medical and clinical biochemistry. The lectures emphasise integrated human metabolism and cover both normal conditions and changes resulting from various diseases. The lab exercises comprise quantitative methods to determine disease or risk of disease. Interpretation and assessment of lab results using statistical methods will be discussed. A series of seminars will deal with recent publications that describe biochemical mechanisms that may yield added insight into pathological processes | Recommended previous qualifications BIO-2300 Biochemistry | Form of teaching Lectures, student colloquia/seminar and lab work.
