GEO-3114: Field Excursion in Exogene Geology Work Load

Autumn, Spring | Contents
Selected geological sites and problems will be demonstrated in the field, with emphasis on sedimentology, stratigraphy and/or Quaternary geology, dependent upon chosen curriculum. The excursion will visit areas or geological provinces outside the area in which the student is engaged in thesis work, preferably abroad or on Svalbard. The course will be arranged by the Department dependent upon adequate funding and participants. Participation in equivalent excursions arranged by other universities or research groups, or in GEO-3142 ''Excursion in marine and Quaternary stratigraphy'' can be a practical alternative.

8 h seminar, 8 - 14 days field excursion. | Exam and assessment
Students will be evaluated through submitted seminar and field reports. Grading: Pass/fail.
