During, and since, the 1980s and 1990s, several new theories regarding leadership have been introduced. This course will focus on the range of new theories of leadership and research, as well as a review of the discipline¿s development from its origin around the turn of the century about a hundred years ago.

The aim of the course is to give the students a thorough and critical insight into the status of leadership research by focusing theories of leadership, and the most important questions and dominating trends in today¿s leadership research ¿ so that the students will have a conscious and superior understanding of leadership as a subject.

Prospective students of this course would be co-workers or students who aim to achieve competence in order to work in positions as leaders. The course is also proper for everybody who might want to procure knowledge regarding leadership connected to counselling within various fields of competence.
