NOR-1111: Nordic Literature from 1870 until Second World War Work Load

The course will provide in-depth knowledge of Norwegian/Scandinavian literature and literary history from 1870 to World War II, and also of literary theory and analysis. | Contents
The course covers Norwegian and Scandinavian literature from 1870 to World War II. The study of literary texts will be closely related to the study of secondary literature in literary history and literary theory. The methods component is not only intended as a tool, but will also enable students to see how an individual textual analysis or other research result is directly related to a particular theoretical method and perhaps also to a value judgement.
Required previous qualifications/ courses: General entrance requirement.
Recommended previous qualifications/ courses: NOR-1110 or equivalent. | Form of teaching

| Exam and assessment
Coursework Requirements:
In order to sit the exam, students must give a prepared 15-minute oral presentation in the course of the semester.
Assessment method:
The exam consists of a one-week home paper of 8-10 pages on a given subject (in nynorsk) .
Grading: Letter grades (A-F)
Exam language(s): Norwegian, nynorsk.
