| Objectives
The course offers a detailed survey of relevant theoretical schools in culture
and literature studies with emphasis on the German-language scientific
tradition. Special attention will be paid to the cultural dimension in foreignlanguage
literature and the course will thus be relevant as part of a degree in
German or comparative literature.
As well as providing academic specialisation and a useful foundation for
independent academic work in German Studies, the specific perspective of
this course furnishes a cultural expertise that is professionally useful within a
