PSY-2586: Reseach Workshop Work Load

| Objectives
Prepare students for designing empirical research for their 3th year term paper and for their 5th year thesis.
| Contents
The research workshop is designed to give insight into research
planning and design:
1) use of qualitative methods understanding social and clinical
problems
2) creation and sharpening of the hypothesis
3) literature searching
4) planning the analysis
all with awareness of the audience, the rhetorical focus, and the
method of publishing.
| Form of teaching
Lectures, seminars and student presentations.
This is a practical workshop course, which means that it is obligatory
for each student (alone or with one other student) shall actually plan
2 research projects and each student shall present one research
project in the seminar.
| Coursework requirements
Presentasjon av forskningsprosjekt
| Exam and assessment
A home assignment of about 5 pages about the other of the two
research designs. This assignment will be graded A-E for pass, and
F for no pass. For the grade of F, there will be a second exam in the
following semester.
