BIO-3322: RNA biology Work Load 10 credits (ECTS) | Type of course Theoretical | Level of course/Year of study First or second year at master''s level. | Language of instruction Norwegian or English | Examination semester Spring
| Objectives To convey new knowledge about RNA''s function in biological contexts spanning molecular evolution and structure, cellular functions and clinical application | Contents The point of departure for the course is RNA-based evolution and the relationship between RNA-structure and function. A central part of the course will be a description of cellular structures in which RNA has a pivotal functional role such as natural catalytic RNA, the spliceosome, proteosome and ribosome. Finally, new aspects of clinical use of RNA as a molecular tool will be discussed. | Recommended previous qualifications BIO-2302 Molecular cellbiology | Form of teaching Lectures and seminars | Exam and assessment A semester assignment with an oral presentation. Grade type: pass / fail
