HIF-3015: Research Methods in Linguistics Work Load

| Objectives
The object of the course to enable students to carry out linguistic research using methods best suited to the problem and material at hand. | Contents
During the course students will acquaint themselves with various methods for collating and handling different types of linguistic material from both informants and written sources.
Required previous qualifications / courses:
A BA programme which provides the basis for admission to a master degree course, or equivalent.
Compulsory reading may be in Norwegian, another Scandinavian language or English.

Tuition will take the form of lectures and seminars with one double period per week for 13 weeks..
Tuition-free weeks must be used for private study.
Language of instruction: Norwegian | Exam and assessment
A take-home assignment (1 week in duration) on an appointed theme which must be written without guidance and submitted within a set deadline. This may be written in either bokmål or nynorsk.
