Mandag, 19. juni 2006 kl. 10.15-12.00, E 1004:
Convergence or Disintegration: the future of libraries, museums, and of the university in a digital age.
Larry Friedlander is particularly interested in theater and performance and interactive technology. He teaches Shakespeare, drama, and acting courses, as well as special workshops that explore the intersection of criticism and performance. He has been deeply involved over the last fifteen years in the meeting of art and technology. He works with major research groups and museums to explore the use of technology in education, research, and public spaces, and to develop appropriate enabling software. He is co-director of the Interactive Shakespeare Research Group, based mostly at MIT, which is creating a digital Shakespeare archive. He also teaches courses on Interactive Narrative and on associated issues in artificial intelligence and narration. Larry is currently co-director of the Stanford Learning Laboratory, the university's center for research, development, and implementation of innovation in technology and learning, and co-director of the Wallenberg Global Learning Network, an international center for exploration of learning in a global context.
