Building a Global Village

Verden i Troms - Tromsø i verden er en enternasjonal uke for, med og av folk i Tromsø.

I år er det tiendeåret dette arrangementet arrangeres. Fokus for uken er mat, kultur og FNs tusenårsmål. I år har flere studenter ved universitetet engasjert seg og blant annet brakt Verden i Tromsø -Tromsø i verden til universitetsområdet.


Building a Global Village

In this age of globalisation and increasing conflict across cultures, is it possible to live in a diverse society where individual identities and cultures can be retained, and celebrated, in harmony with one another?

'Building a Global Village' is a process-oriented workshop focusing on promoting cross-cultural communication and understanding. Participants will have the opportunity to explore these issues using creative methods including painting and sculpture. Individuals will be examining their own cultural identity and how that may be incorporated into a diverse group dynamic.

The workshop will contain both theoretical and practical components, and participants will create a group project. No previous art experience or skill is necessary! Participation is limited to International and Norwegian students studying at the University of Tromsø and the University College of Tromsø.
