”Exploring Ethnographic Methods”

”Exploring Ethnographic Methods” (“Utredningsrommet for kvalitativ metode”) is a project supported by Norwegian Opening Universities (Norgesuniversitetet) for creating multimedia teaching materials and educational resources. The project consists of three parts: “Reviewing Ethnographic Texts”, “Reviewing Ethnographic Films” and “The Fieldwork Checklist”.

The underlying concept is that of ‘Crossing Views’, teaching and mediating ‘the perspective of perspectives’, to understand and utilize the human fundamental that perceptions are preconceived and positioned socially and culturally and relate it to the students own research, and to the existing ethnographic literature and ethnographic films.

The teaching materials are intended to support the existing curriculum at the Master program in Visual Cultural Studies as well as to be used in collaborative study programs.
The project ends in December 2006.
