Mor Mauken har i flere århundre vært reindsdyr beiteplass for samiske reinsdyrholdere. Fjellområdet huser også rester av gamle levninger som blir undersøkt av arkeologer. Filmen viser hvordan tilstedeværelsen til militæret øvelse skytefelt er med på og forandre miljøet både for reinsdyrholdere og arkeologer.

The mountains of Mor Mauken have for centuries been the herding grounds for sami herders. The mountains also houses ancient remains which are being studied by archelogists. The film shows how the prescence of a military firing exercise ground changes the enviromental conditions, both for the herders and the archeologists.
