’The Enlightened’ – a film about the design chair.The startingpoint for this film is the everyday work for three men who create chairs: The norvegian designers Svein Gusrud, Torstein Nilsen and Sigurd Strøm – and the way they experience their work with design and creativity. The visual and the musicality play a sentral role in their work. How does one create a unique chair with personality and appeal? How does the world appear to them – and how would they like it to appear for us? A chair is much more than just a tool for sitting– it can bring you close to the edge, the limit you have to push to realise and visualise yourself as a person. It can be your expression for dreams, fears, wishes – the oscillation between solitude and unity. After you have seen this film, nothing will be as it used to be – at least not the chairs!
