"The Death is a star" is the name of a much debated newly added piece of art inside Grønnåsen Church, Tromsø. The artwork is percieved as pagan among some churchgoers and the local newspapers debate the artwork heatedly. But among the churchgoers there are those who argue that the artwork forfills its promise. The film reveals the many faceted meanings related to the artwork.
