| Scientific background for the architectural design implications of building physics:
energy conservation, utilization of solar energy and other renewables, daylighting, climatic adaption in anonymous architecture, atrium buildings. |
| Øyvind Aschehoug has been teaching building physics in an architectural context since 1965.
He has also worked for the Norwegian Building Research Institute in Oslo, and the Architecture and
Building Technology unit of SINTEF in Trondheim. At the latter institution he now functions as scientific
advisor and project leader on a parttime basis.
During sabbatical periods, Øyvind Aschehoug has worked at Faculty of Architecture and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, University of California at Berkeley, The Swedish Building Research Institute in Gävle, Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics, and the Martin Centre at University of Cambridge. He has been the leader of several multi-disciplinary groups which undertook large research projects: | |
| The Daylighting Group of Trondheim, 1977-80
The Trondheim Group for Glazed Spaces, 1986-1991 The Norwegian Solar Energy Research Center, 1991-1995 The NTNU Network for Sustainable Energy Systems, 1998-2000 The NTNU/SINTEF Research Focus "Smart Energy-Efficient Building", 1999-... This has also involved the leadership of and participation in many national and international research projects. Some recent ones (with web-links) are: Advanced Glazing and Associated Materials (IEA) Daylighting Design of European Buildings (EU) Daylighting in Buildings (IEA) |
