Adjunct Professors (Professor II) hold a 20% position.

The first three research areas have been identified by NTNU and SINTEF as strong point centers. (No other department at the university has a better research record in this respect).

The research is generelly conducted in close cooperation with SINTEF Applied Chemistry , which is a research foundation located within our buildings. The paper and fibre research is performed in close cooperation (and located together) with PFI .

There are presently about 60 Ph.D. students at the department.
