Local Contributions to meet the 2010 Target to halt the Loss of Biodiversity

A Nordic network is established to meet the international 2010 biodiversity target. The network members are municipalities in the Nordic countries. The local society, usually represented by the municipalities, is a key actor in achieving the 2010 target. The municipalities are central authorities in area planning and in managing the biodiversity in the Nordic countries. On this webpage you can find information about ongoing projects in the participant municipalities and different approaches to achieve the 2010 biodiversity target.

The participating municipalities in the Nordic network.

Participating municipalities are Stjørdal, Hammerfest and Trondheim from Norway, Holstebro, Kolding and Herning from Denmark, Örebro from Sweden, Vanda (Vantaa) and Borgå (Porvoo) from Finland, Nes from the Faroes, and Alftanes and Akureyri from Iceland.
