From Oslo centre to the Department of Economics/ESOP

Subway: Take line 3 (Sognsvann) or line 5 (Storo) westbound, to Forskningsparken. When you leave the train, do not cross the line, but go straight ahead passing to the left of one tall building and directly towards another 12 floor building (Eilert Sundts hus B), where the Department is located in the 11th and 12th floor, and ESOP on 10th floor (from December 2007).

Tram: Take line 17 or 18 towards Rikshospitalet, and depart at Nils Henrik Abels vei where you see the tall buildings.The Department is in the first tall building to the left.

From Gardermoen Airport to the Department of Economics

Take the Airport Express to the National theatre, then the subway line 3 or 5 westbound to Forskningsparken, see description above.
The Airport Express leaves every 20 minutes, travel time is 25 minutes, and price is NOK 160.

Taxi from the airport is about NOK 600. Ask for fixed price when starting the trip (otherwise it may cost a lot more). It's cheaper and probably faster to take the Airport express to Oslo S, and then a taxi from there to the Department.

From Gardermoen Airport to Thon Hotel Europe (the hotel most frequently used by the department)

The easiest way to get from the airport to Thon Hotel Europa is to take the airport shuttle bus to Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel. This will take about 50 minutes and cost 110,-. When you get to Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel you have only 2 minutes walk to the back of that hotel, and you will see Thon Hotel Europa. You may also ask the driver to stop at our hotel - they do that sometime.

Another alternative is the Airport express train to the Nationaltheatre station. That will take you 25 minutes and cost 160,-, but then you have to walk for about 7 minutes from the station Nationaltheateret to the hotel. Turn left when you come out of the station, and walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes (seeing the Royal Palace in the park on your left), and you will see Thon Hotel Europa on your left hand side.

From Thon Hotel Europe to Department of Economics

The easiest is to take the tram from just outside the hotel, line 17 or 18 towards Rikshospitalet, depart at Nils Henrik Abels vei, where you see the tall buildings.The Department is in the first tall building to the left. Building # 10 on the map. You may also walk 7 minutes to the National theatre and take the subway line 3 or 5 westbound to Forskningsparken.
