About the rotating wave Approximation

To run, you need to save to your directory:
(Naturally, you should know a bit about Matlab!)
  1. rabi.m
  2. rabieq.m
  3. rotwav.m
  4. consta.m

Step by step:

  1. Make a directory where to run
  2. click on each of the above sources (rabi.m,rabieq.m,rotwav.m , consta.m) and save them with these names as 'source' in your directory
  3. Start matlab from the directory
  4. type help rabi, help rotwav ....etc
  5. type
    rabi
    to run the programme.
  6. there are dialogues, but you can answer by simple return
  7. Read the notes about the Rotating Wave Approximation
  8. Change the parameters to obtain various versions.
  9. In particular, observe what happens when the detuning gets larger!

Exact solution, using rabieq.m, answer 'e'

Rotating Wave solution, using rotwav.m, answer 'r'
