What are we doing?
At the group we work on problem orientated research in the field of inorganic
chemistry, solid state chemistry and material science. Our main activities
are:
- New inorganic materials with special properties
- New organic/inorganic hybrid materials
- Thin films of electronically and optically active materials
- Phase transformations and their thermodynamics
- Redox-reactions in solid materials
- Stabilization of fractional valence states
- Experimental and theoretical studies on material stability
Why are we doing it?
The goal for the scientific activity is to:
- Gain better understanding of fundamental properties of solid materials
- Relate physical properties to structural parameters; to relate stability
to microscopic parameters
- Obtain knowledge on how fundamental properties for chemical materials
can be used for enhancement of material properties
- Produce materials with special, desirable properties, and to develop
methods to modify material properties with chemical and/or physical
means
Want a peak on our past and
present research activity?
How do we do it?
The group is equipped with facilities and involved in collaboration that
makes us able to:
- Synthese materials and grow crystals
- Produce nano-scale materials
- Study reactions, transformations and phase diagrams
- Determin the atomic arrangement
- Determin the magnetic ordering and properties
- Study transformations under high pressure and temperature
- Do calorimetric determination of thermodynamic properties
- Study electronic transport properties
- Study electronic structure theoretically
