We offer thesis projects which can span over many fields in physics and chemistry. These are
theoretical chemistry, atomic physics, nuclear physics, molecular physics, solid state physics
and materials science.
Examples of topics are
- Monte Carlo simulations of systems with many particles
- Eigenvalue problems, large scale diagonalization of matrices with more than
eigenstates.
- Solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation with partial differential equation methods.
- Studies of dense matter such as neutron stars.
- Many-body studies of nuclei and their structure with various types of baryons.
- Studies of different many-body methods.
- Quantum algorithms and quantum information theory.
- Many-body studies of systems in solid state physics (quantum dots) and materials science.
- Phase transitions in quantum mechanical systems such as Bose-Einstein condensation and superfluidity and superconductivity.
Recommended bachelor programs: FAM/ELDAT/MENA/Chemistry and MIT
