Diploma and Ph.D. projects at HERA-B
Writing the Diploma or Ph.D. thesis at HERA-B is the opportunity to work
at the frontier of fundamental research and the possibility to become an
expert in data analysis and methods of experimental and theoretical particle
physics.
The work is foreseen to be in close contact with the international HERA-B
Collaboration at DESY including traveling to Hamburg in order to know the
experiment and take advantage of the local expertise.
The subjects of diploma and doctoral thesis are connected with the projects
of the group within the HERA-B experiment Collaboration, which is
the analysis of
HERA-B data 2002 and includes investigation and/or Monte Carlo simulation of physics
processes such as:
-
Charmonium
production
-
Production
cross-section of b-quarks
- Measurements of heavy flavor production in nuclear matter, studies of B-hadrons (examples:
B-baryons searches, BS mixing, rare decays), charmonium spectroscopy e.g. search for,
hc(1P1), |ccg>, studies of charm mesons (e.g. D mixing) are also among the pssible topics.
- Study
of
and
centrally produced at HERA-B
