If you log in with your UiO username and password you can access your home area.
Please use sftp (secure ftp) when logging in as yourself; otherwise your user name and password is sent in clear text through the net. Your UiO windows machine should have Tectia installed; WinSCP is a free alternative for anyone to use. "sftp" will work on most UNIXes.
We will usually have made symbolic links from your home area to your personal incoming and outgoing FTP areas. From Windows they look like folders and are called incoming_by_ftp and outgoing_by_ftp.
The areas are physically incoming_by_ftp: geofag:/mn/geofag/ftp/incoming/[username] This area is automatically cleaned of one-month-old files outgoing_by_ftp: geofag:/mn/geofag/ftp/pub/[username] This area is not cleaned; please remove old files
WARNING: ** 30-day old files at your upload-area are deleted automatically and without warning! **
