Project Title: Problems of Balance and Life Quality in Patients with Mild Traumatic Head Injury (MTBI) Four Years after Injury.
Objective/Research Question: The objective of this study is to follow up patients with mild traumatic head injury four years post-injury in order to obtain more knowledge of their subjective experience of problems with balance. The project seeks to address the following questions:
-How may the self-reported experience of balance four years after mild head injury compare with the equivalent reporting one year after the injury?
-What are the connections between self-reported balance measurements, performance-based balance measurements and quality of life measurements four years after mild head injury?
-What are the differences between those reporting balance problems and those reporting none, in relation to the performance-based tests and life quality four years after the injury?

Project Title: Being a Fifth Grader in Spydeberg: EU project
Objective/Research Question: The relationship between physical activity and life quality in children is a topic which is under-researched. Many believe that children today are less physically active than in previous years. At the same time others believe that earlier reported life-style challenges have not affected children in this local authority to the same extent as for children in larger towns. The project seeks to find out more about the effect on physical fitness and quality of life of introducing increased physical activity in junior school, and whether increased physical activity is available in fifth grade children’s free time during the school year 2005-6. The intention is to evaluate whether increased physical activity, initiated by the physiotherapist, influences physical functioning and psychological well-being in children.
