Simon Innvær submitted a dissertation in comparative politics, in 1991, to the University of Bergen. In the period 1991-1998 he was a doctoral candidate and assistant professor at the Department of Comparative Politics, Faculty of Social Sciences, at the University of Bergen. He completed his doctorate in comparative politics in 1999.
Simon Innvær worked as a senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health in the period 1999-2002. In 2003 he worked for 4 months at Oslo University College, Research Group for Inclusive Welfare Policy. He worked as a senior researcher at the Directorate for Health and Social Affairs, Norwegian Knowledge Centre for the Health Services in the period 2002-2005, before again joining Oslo University College, Research Group for Inclusive Social Welfare Policies in the autumn of 2006.
Main areas of research and fields of interest:
Policy analysis, comparative studies, utilisation of knowledge, process evaluations, qualitative synthesis, social theory, and theory of science.
