English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
Presenting at a conference: How can I improve my Academic English?
Two-day Course in English for Academic Purposes,Oslo University College
Many of the staff at OsloUniversityCollege (OUC) use English for various purposes as part of their professional lives. English for academic purposes (EAP) includes activities like presenting papers at conferences, teaching in English, preparing posters, or articles for submission to journals, and networking with international colleagues.
The Department of Organisation and Human Resources , with course leader Dr. Art., and Associate Professor, Ann Torday Gulden , can help improve your academic English skills. This course will be tailor-made for the participants, it is task-based and English speaking throughout, and the group will be small ( approx. 8 participants). The key concept for this course is ‘confidence –building’. Experience shows that language production is greatly improved during these courses.
- The Department of Organisation and Human Resources offers academic staff at OUC a two-day course, “Presenting at a conference – how can I improve my Academic English?”. The course will be held from 9. am to 4. pm. For more information, use the menu to the right.
During spring 2008 there will be three EAP courses. These courses are a part of OUC’s competence development programme for employees within the field of internationalisation, in accordance with the current OUC strategic plan.
