Accommodation

As an exchange student you are guaranteed university accommodation provided you:

• will be taking part in a exchange program/agreement at Østfold University College
• have returned your Housing Application by 1 June for the autumn semester and 1 November for the spring semester

You will be offered a single room at one of our halls of residence. All rooms have high speed Internet connection.

Please note that if you are here for a very short period of time (less than a semester) we may not guarantee accommodation.

A house content insurance is recommended during your stay in Norway.    

Terms of contract
The contract you sign for University College-owned accommodation is legally binding for either one single semester, starting from 15 August until 31 December or from 1 January until 30 June, or for the whole academic year starting from 15 August until 30 June. There is no notice period, which means you will not be released from your contract.       

Should you decide to leave the University College accommodation you will be charged the rent on your room for the remainder of the tenancy and will only be released if another student can be found who is not already living in University College accommodation.

You will be asked to pay a deposit before you get the key to your room. The deposit will be returned at the end of your tenancy, provided the room is left in the same condition as when you arrived.
