Volda University College is working hard in order to develop our international engagement within student and teaching mobility through European and national cooperation programmes and bilateral agreements. Our own students are highly motivated to study abroad, either by taking an integrated part of their study programme with our Socrates/ Nordplus partners in Europe, with partners in Asia, the United States and Asia or by continuing their studies abroad after graduation from Volda University College.
About the International Office
The international office at Volda University College works closely with its partner institutions and departments internally to ensure that students receive quality education in Norway and abroad. The office is headed by
Cecilie Wilhelmsen and includes international coordinator Kjell Holby (teacher education).
Studies
A recent reform (the quality reform in higher education) has introduced the international bachelor
and master degrees into the Norwegian system of higher education. Volda University College offers
a wide range of bachelor degrees. A few master degrees are also offered.
Norwegian is the main language of instruction, but the University college also offers some courses
in English for exchange students.
Through educational programmes the University College collaborates with institutions of higher education
in all Nordic countries as well as other European Union (EU) countries. In addition, we have bilateral
agreements with institutions and organisations in Europe as well as in the USA, Africa, Asia and Australia.
