How to get to the NCHR from Gardermoen Airport:
- The fastest (but most expensive, around EUR 20,- one way) way to get to downtown Oslo is by the Airport Train, which departs every 10/20 minutes per hour, to Nationaltheatret Station (the one after the Central Station) in the center of Oslo.
- Having exited from the Nationaltheatret Station by the main exit (which you find by walking against the direction of the arriving train) you are just behind the National Theatre, on a small square. What you're now looking for, is Karl Johans gate, on your left.
- You now have the Karl Johans gate, Oslo's main street, to your left. Standing in the Karl Johans gate you can easily see the royal castle at the very end of the street (northwest). Walk away from the castle, down Karl Johans gate 200-250 meters while you have three old, columned buildings (The old University of Oslo) on your left until the very first street to your left (between the old University and a red building with a Hard Rock Café).
- This is the Universitetsgaten. You'll find the NCHR some 60- 80 meters straight ahead, on the right hand side (The Old University Garden is on your left). Actually, what you'll find is a narrow walkway between two departments of the Norli bookshop. Immediately into the walkway, you'll find our entrance on your left. Try the upper bell, which signals the NCHR reception on the third floor. The reception is serviced during working hours. Outside these, you'll have to make prior arrangements with your NCHR contact in order to enter the building.
There's a map of the area which could be useful:
