Groups > Knowledge-Based Systems

Artificial intelligence and learning, with the common grounds of building intelligent systems which rely on explicit symbolic knowledge representations (provided by domain experts or learned by computer systems).

A goal of increased understanding of computational intelligence and interactivity, aimed at improved computer support for human activities. Emphasis on methods for integrated problem solving and learning in machines, intelligent support for human learning, and mutual learning in humans and machines. Including architectures for intelligent behaviour which combine lower-level reactive mechanisms with higher-level symbolic reasoning.
