Arbeidet som forsker ved SINTEF i 12 år.
Startet flere IT bedrifter.

Sterkt involvert i ANSI, ISO og IFIP arbeid innenfor Grafisk Databehandling og DAK/DAP og har deltatt i flere nasjonale og internasjonale forskningsprogrammer.
Gjesteprofessor ved SMU , Dallas, Texas.
Gjesteredaktør av IEEE Computer, Special issue on Human/Computer Interaction. Foreleste i EuroPace (European Programme for Advanced Continuing Education) som ble satelittoverført til hele Europa.
Skrevet lærebøker i Grafisk Databehandling, Bildebehandling og DAK/DAP/CIM og vært editor for flere bøker fra internasjonale konferanser.

Mine hovedinteresser for tiden er bildeforståelse, grafisk databehandling og kunstig intelligens.
