Atomic Collisions - Time dependent nonperturbative quantum mechanics:

Collisions between atoms and ions and atoms studied by non-perturbative quantum mechanics. The research is carried out in collaboration with S. E. Nielsen (University of Copenhagen) and Alain Dubois (University of Paris VI). The main goal of the research is to understand the magnitudes AND phases of the collision induced amplitudes, not to mention the full dynamics of the electronic charge cloud.

Correlation in Atomic Collisions:

Theory and dynamics of two active electrons subject to a time - dependent perturbation. So far the focus have been on correlated charge transfer in multiply charged ion-atom collisions.  Here is a  some references:

Molecular Dynamics - Classical  Dynamics Simulations:

This project has s main goals to obtained an improved understanding of friction ,  alloy segregation in metals, and stress-strain relations - all based on atomic or microscopic theories. A basic element of the study is many particle classical molecular dynamics calculations.
Research is carried out in collaboration with  Inge Skauvik (Hydro Aluminium) and Thierry Matthey (Parallab, UiB).
