CVS repository
Experimental Nuclear Physics Group, University of Bergen

If you have an account and are a member of to the corresponding group you can use the repository. The viewcvs web interface provides a nice way to browse the content.

The repository is divided into the following parts:
  • dcscvs : all source code for the software running on the dcs board

  • vhdlcvs : VHDL projects

  • kjekspubcvs : publications

  • the old HLT repository has been integrated into the ALICE offline CVS repository

You have to set some environment variables:
setenv CVS_RSH ssh
setenv CVSEDITOR vi

setenv CVSROOT ${USER}@portal1.ift.uib.no:/heim/kjeks/cvs/dcscvs # dcscard software
#setenv CVSROOT ${USER}@portal1.ift.uib.no:/heim/kjeks/cvs/vhdlcvs # vhdl projects
#setenv CVSROOT ${USER}@portal1.ift.uib.no:/heim/kjeks/cvs/kjekspubcvs # publications

The machine name 'portal1' can be replaced by any machine (or 'localhost') if you are on the internal network. From outside, only 'portal1' is open.

The CVS_RSH variable is mandatory, you have to use ssh. For your convenience you should install an ssh key. Set the CVSROOT variable to the desired location. You can also override this variable by using the '-d' option of cvs.
