Competence and Media Convergence
Competence and Media Convergence (CMC) comprises a strategic
research field that focuses on how different developmental processes
may be understood in relation to information and communication
technology (ICT).
CMC focuses on cultural, political, judicial, economic and
communicative aspects of the development and use of ICT. This broad
focus reflects the premise that technological development must be
understood and studied in relation to social change.
CMC has two main tracks of research, Competence and Convergence,
which are concerned with competencies in new work and learning
environments, and with how different convergence processes challenge
boundaries between technology, media professions, institutions and
regulations.
CMC is based on research activities at eight departments and centres in five faculties.
