Möbius is an environment for modelling and
analysis of system dependability (availability, reliability), security
and performance. It is developed and maintained by
the Performability
Engineering Research Group (PERFORM) in the Center for Reliable and
High-Performance Computing at the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign. For an introduction, see the homepage of
Möbius.
At
NTNU, Department of Telematics and Q2S, the for
Stochastic Petrinet/Stochastic Activity Net tools in
Möbius are used:
We have a noncommersial licence, with Professor Bjarne E. Helvikas
the responsible party. Möbius is installed on the
on the Wolfpack
cluster <<link to be introduced>> for use by PhD students,
staff and MSc students needing the tool for their thesis. How to access:
- From Linux or Mac OS X. As usual you are expected to manage
by
yourself :-) However, take a look at the first and last item in the
windows PC guide:
- Get an account on wolfpack (O&M at Depertment of Telematics)
- Start the X server on your home computer
- Log on wolfpack and start Möbius.
If you
insist on installing Möbius on your Linux or windows machine
(see here
for supported
platforms), contact me.
NB! for noncommersial use only.
Note that the
Möbius manual currently available on the tool home page
are rather cursor with respect to introduction of the UltraSAN
modelling
concepts and constructs. Hence, to familiarise with these, the students
at TM8101
should use the older UltraSAN manual available in the course's paper
repository.
