Self Configuring Systems

Objectives

Students shall obtain knowledge about different prinsiples and technical solutions for construction/administration of dynamic distributed systems which could self-configurate when started, reconfigure when changes occur and possibly self-heal when errors occur.

Student shall also get hands on experiences with two technical approaches namely Jini network technology and Web Services. They shall familiarise themselves with these and develop some applications.

Content

	Study of self configuration systems and principles. The students select a principle, methopd or system for self study that they will present to the other students in a colloquium.
	Writing an essay on the chosen topic. This will be graded in case the tema (theme) shall be graded.
	Study WebServices and Jini and develop applications in the lab.

Organisation

The students will work in groups of 2 to carry out the study, writing the essay and do the laboratory exercises.
