Introductory Course in Phonetics and Linguistics

| Curriculum for non-native speakers of Norwegian |

www.forproven.hf.ntnu.no (Norwegian only)

The course is an introduction to Phonetic and Linguistic theory and method. In addition to giving a basic overview of the disciplines, a strong emphasis is on training the students in the necessary skills for practical phonetic transcription and syntactic analysis.

The course is compulsory for most exams in English, French, German, Linguistics, Phonetics, Scandinavian and Swahili. Therefore, a two-week intensive course is held before the start of each semester, in addition to the regular teaching during the autumn semester. Exams are arranged four times a year.

Those proficient in Norwegian can take a look at our extensive web site for the course, at www.forproven.hf.ntnu.no. Here, you'll find schedules, places, lecturer's notes, exams w/ solutions, web-based colloquias, etc.

You could also see studiehåndboka.
