Prior to the examination

Registration for exams and courses

You may register for your exams at the same time as you register as a student each semester. The deadline for registration for your exams is February 1st in the spring semester and September 1st in the fall semester. You register for your exams using StudentWeb.

In some of the courses there are both a term paper and a school exam - please remember to sign up for both parts of the course, in order to complete the entire examination of the course.

Course approval

In many courses you have to hand in mandatory assignments (i.e. group works or methodological assignments) or a term paper in order to be allowed to take your exams. If you need a course approval, you will find information about this in the course description and the teacher will give information on the requirements to receive a course approval during the course.

Please state the sources you use in all kind of written work at NHH, also in assignments for course approval. If you do not do this properly, it may be considered as cheating or an attempt to cheat. The Library has written a good guideline on how to write references and sources.

The regulations for examinations at NHH and the supplementary regulation to the exam regulations give more information on consequences of cheating or trying to cheat on an course approval.

Withdrawal

If you have signed up for a course and decide not to complete the course - you can withdraw from the course three weeks prior to the examination date, without using one of your three attempts in the course. We encourage you to withdraw as soon as you know you are not taking the course, in order to save resources both for the teachers and for the school planning for the exam situation (number of rooms needed etc).

Withdrawal is done through StudentWeb, by ticking the red cross.

Where to sit

A few days prior to the examination,  lists indicating where students are to be seated during the examination will be posted at our web page. Examinations are held in various classrooms in the school's main building, in the Merino building, Hatleberg and Lemkuhl sports hall.

Examinations normally begin at 9:00 a.m. The exams last for three or four hours (details about this in the course description). All students must be present at the examination location at least 15 minutes prior to exam start. Late attendance may lead to expulsion from the examination
