How to transfer your address book from SquirrelMail to Outlook
If you have been using the address book function in SquirrelMail (WebMail) after February 4th you should have received an email containing a link where you may download your address book. The downloaded file can be used to import the addresses into Outlook.
NOTE: Wait until the new e-mail server has been activated until you do the import.
The following procedure must be used to gain a reasonable result:
1) Double click on the downloaded file. Normally it will open in Excel. (If not; cancel and call for assistance from your IT-support person.)
2) Choose "Save" from the "File"-menu in Excel. Press the "Yes"-button in the dialog that shows up. Quit Excel and answer "No" to the next question. (This corrects the line-endings in the file.)
3) Start Outlook (if it is not running). The import may only be done from the Outlook-client, not in Outlook Web Access (OWA). The imported addresses will be available in OWA as well!
4) Choose "Import and Export…" from the "File"-menu.
5) Choose "Import from another program or file" and press the "Next >"-button.
6) Choose "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" and press the "Next >"-button.
7) Press the "Browse…"-button and find the address book-file you downloaded. Select whatever you like under "Options". Press the "Next >"-button.
8) Choose "Contacts" ("Kontakter") as destination folder and press the "Next >"-button.
9) Press "Finish" and your contacts will be imported one by one.
PS: This procedure has been tested, but we still can't guarantee there will not be any trouble. Call for assistance if you need any.
