Electron microscopy in Materials Science at NTNU
The Norwegian University of Science and
Technology (NTNU) NTNU is the centre for technological education and research in Norway, with a solid foundation in the natural sciences. It has 7 faculties and 53 departments with 20 000 students, half of whom study technology or natural sciences.
Cross-disciplinary The electron microscopy activities in materials science are spread over three departments and two faculties:
- Department of Materials Technology
- Department of Physics in the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology
- Department of Geology and Mineral Resources Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology
Facilities During recent years significant investments have been made in order to make NTNU a leading centre of electron microscopy in
materials science. We offer a broad range of instruments including state-of-the-art:
- Scanning electron microscopes (SEM)
- Transmission electron microscopes (TEM)
- Electron probe microanalyser (EPMA)
