Energy, Transportation and the Environment

Gass cylinder - photoImproved knowledge The development of sustainable production and the use of energy are major challenges for Norwegian society. This research group will contribute to the strengthening of our knowledge basis for a more environmentally friendly energy regime in Norway and internationally.

This is obtained by analysing social and cultural dimensions of energy use in dwellings and business premises, and political and financial conditions for developing a more environmentally friendly energy production. Analysis of this type include, for example, conditions for increased focus on wind power, possible means of reducing energy consumption in buildings, and the construction industry's managing of energy efficiency improvements.

The research group has an extensive interdisciplinary co-operation with research communities within the energy technology sector.
