Åpning av trådløse trondheim
With the snip of a data cable - of course!
Wireless Trondheim, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology's new city-wide wireless network designed specifically for research, was inaugurated Tuesday, September 26. Now we"re limited only by the imagination and creativity of Trøndelag residents", said Torbjørn Digernes, NTNU Rector, just before Per Berge, head of the Trondheim Elders Council, and Sven Samdal, head of the Adolf Øens High School Student Council, used a hedge cutter to snip a symbolic Internet data cable. The opening makes Trondheim the only wireless city in Norway, and provides companies and researchers worldwide with a wireless network where they can test ideas and products in a substantial real world environment.
