The Technology Café is an arena for comprehensive thinking and
cross-disciplinary debate on the preconditions for - and consequences of - new technology. The Café is a forum initiated by students from different faculties at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), in close collaboration with the Students' Society in Trondheim and the Information Department at NTNU.

Technology is not only the artefact and how it works. Technology also
encompasses the understanding of how it influences - and is influenced by society. Thorough knowledge of such matters may be decisive for Norway's future in a high-tech world.

The Café is a popular place to meet for students and researchers and other employees at NTNU, as well as the people of Trondheim. Speakers come from Norway's top technology communities. Therefore, the Café is about to establish itself as an important arena for network building between research institutions, government and business, regionally as well as nationally.
