New committee to assess government film
policy
Press release 30 August
2006
A committee appointed by The Ministry of Culture and Church
Affairs will look into the organisation of agencies, institutions and
instruments in the film area. The committee will be chaired by Kristenn
Einarsson, with members from the film industry as well as from the Nordic film
institutes.
The committee’s report will be a central contribution to the
work on the Parliament white paper on film, which is to be presented by the
government in the spring session of 2007. The purpose of the report is to
assess the adequacy of the current organisation of the government agencies and
institutions in terms of the government’s aim to strengthen Norwegian film.
Matters for the committee to consider include the delimitation
between the areas of responsibility of the government and the film industry,
the organisation of the government agencies and institutions, the shared
