What is Odins archive?
Odins archive is a collection of the majority of documents published by the Prime Minister's
Office and the Ministries since Odin started in 1995. You can also find some
documents published prior to 1995. You can find both valid, archived and
replaced documents in the archive.
How is the archive organized?
The archive is organized by government periods:
The older government periods contain fewer documents than the
later periods.
For each government period the archive is further divided into the
ministries which existed in that period. On the first page of each period you
can find a short overview of changes in the organization of ministries for that
period.
The documents are organized for each ministry by document type.
What documents are available in the
archive?
In the archive, you can find the majorityof press releases,
speeches and articles published on Odin by the ministries. You can also find
regulations and other types of documents.
Government publications, that is, reports to the Parliament
("White papers"), propositions to the Parliament and Official
Norwegian Reports, are not archived. These publications are always available
under "Documents and publications" on Odins front page.
Document statuses on Odin
On Odin, two different statuses are used to denote that a document
is no longer valid.
Archived: Documents with status 'archived' can only be found in the
archive. This status pertains to documents where the content is expired. Press
releases, news, speeches along with articles from earlier governments
automatically receive status 'archived' when a new government is installed.
Replaced: Documents with status 'replaced' are documents which have been
eplaced by a newer document available on Odin. A replaced document will contain
a link to the new document.
