Institute for Educational Research
The Institute for Educational Research's pedagogical perspectives are concerned with the nature of learning and development of knowledge. The subject of Pedagogy deals with questions and issues in society. It is concerned with how we learn and develop knowledge through interaction with others, in educational and work environments and in a complex and a constantly changing society.
Students and staff contribute with research based knowledge that addresses central questions in society: How can kindergartens, schools and work provide children, youth and adults with positive learning and personal development opportunities? How can school and work meet the challenges in a multicultural society? How does modern technology affect the learning culture of children and youth, both in education and in the classroom? Are schools reflecting and reproducing the differences in society or are they able to be an arena for creating equality?
The institute for educational research is a naturally leading institute in its field. In addition, international orientation is highly prioritised, both regarding the fields of studies and research.
