Tønnes
Brekne
Until recently, I was a post.doc. at the Centre for Quantifiable Quality of Service in
Communication Systems at the Norwegian University of Science and
Technology. I was assigned to the research area Trustworthy Multiparty
Interactions in Dynamic Networking Environments.
Background
Prior to my post.doc. position, I spent a few years as a research
scientist in computer security at Telenor Research and
Development. I took leave for four years to carry out my doctoral
studies at the Department of
Telematics, NTNU before
returning for a one-and-a-half year stint at Telenor Research and
Development. My doctoral studies resulted in a dissertation titled
Encrypted
Computation. In parallel with these studies I held
introductory courses in computer security at two universities in
addition to a regional university.

Main Research Interests
- Anonymization and pseudonymization (primary focus has currently
detoured into this).
- Stochastic models and risk theory (former focus).
- Mobile agents and security (the initial focus of my doctoral work).
- Fault-tolerance and security.
